Savannah Beach & Racquet Part 2

Well, I am a realtor on Tybee - so I have to share with you information on listings on Tybee - so lets start with Savannah Beach and Racquet. SBRC is located at 1217 Bay Street on the Savannah River. The development has 168 condos that are privately owned. All of the condos are one bedroom and one bathroom. The development is a gated community with private access to the Savannah River/Beach. Savannah Beach and Racquet has three tennis courts and two pools. I have attached photos of my friends Ed and Jeanette's condo located in the "A" building facing the ocean/river - great views and I have spent many a relaxing evening watching the dolphins play and the huge cargo ships navigating the Savannah River. If you are interested in renting Ed & Jeanette's condo contact Tybee Vacation Rentals http://www.tybeevacationrental.com/ or 912-786-5853. If you are interesting in purchasing one of the condos there are currently 13 condos on the market ranging in price from $160,000 to $ 275,000.

Savannah Beach & Racquet Club

Savannah Beach & Racquet Club is located on Tybee north end of the Island. SBRC will always hold a special place in my heart for two reasons. First it was my very first real estate sale on Tybee. I have been selling real estate since 1986 - but all of my sales prior to Savannah Beach and Racquet were in my hometown of Kent, Ohio. When we first moved to Tybee our family decided to open a small bakery/coffee shop on Tybrisa - we had the bakery for several years - but decided that it made more sense to stay in the field that we knew (real estate).
So, to make a long story short I decided to sell real estate full time on Tybee and surrounding areas. I began as most realtors begin and was at the real estate office getting familar with current listings. My dear friend Jeanette and her husband Ed were visiting from Texas and decided to keep me company in the office. They started looking at some of the listings and suggested that it would be "fun" for me to practice showing property on Tybee to them. So, off we go with lock box key in hand and we went exploring. After several days of looking at a variety of properties a new listing came on the market at Savannah Beach and Racquet - it was ocean/river front and Ed said let's take a look - and then they both said let's make an offer---- and to move to the end of the story - they bought the condo!!! So, not only did I make my first sale - but, my dearest of friends now own a condo on Tybee!!! They are so happy with their condo that they recently purchased a condo in Taso New Mexico - their plan is to spend 1/2 the year at Tybee and 1/2 the year Taos - sounds like a good plan to me.

Sunday, May 17, 2009
I was recently forwarded this email and it just hit home - thought you might enjoy. Moving to Tybee Island was a way to slow down and enjoy life. I am blessed a great family - close to our oldest son and have made wonderful friends and have found a church that was truly an answer to prayers (Chapel by the Sea) - Hope you enjoy it as much as I did/do.
Happy Sunday!!!
GEORGE CARLIN (His wife recently died...and George followed her, dying July 2008)Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.A Message by George Carlin:The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?George Carlin
